“Wow,” La Crosse man says, surprised by his breathalyzer result in 4th OWI arrest
He admitted to police he had seven or eight drinks. That included a 64-ounce pitcher of beer.
James Moore of La Crosse, however, still was surprised at his .20 on the breathalyzer, after being pulled over by La Crosse police around 3 p.m. Saturday.
The 61-year-old faces his fourth OWI. He may have gotten away had not nailed a car when he drove off on Logan Street in his pickup carrying a camper.
Witnesses called it in and police picked Moore up at the corner of Gillette and George streets. The 61-year-old told police he started drinking at 10:30 a.m. with that pitcher at a bar.
Moore refused field sobriety tests before the breathalyzer results had him saying, “Wow.”
His last OWI came in 2001. Moore has since been released from jail.
