Leg found on Mississippi River sent for DNA testing, could have ID in few weeks
It’s not much of an update about a leg that was found just south of Dam No. 4 on the Mississippi River.
But, the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office posted Tuesday, “We could have identification within a few weeks.”
It went on to say leg was sent to the Minnesota Bureau Of Criminal Apprehension, which is currently in the process of DNA testing.
The leg — from the femur to the foot — was found with a shoe attached in a debris pile about 20 feet from shore on the afternoon of July 15.
There was no other human body parts nearby. Searches conducted in the days after turned up nothing.
