Three years in prison for a 60-year-old La Crosse man in what the judge called his seventh OWI conviction.

Edward Brickl, Jr., was sentenced Tuesday. Last year, Brickl told police he consumed several beers while playing horseshoes. He was asked if he was able to drive safely, and said “probably not.”

Brickl’s second most recent drunk-driving charge dates back to 2007, when he was ordered to spend a year-and-a-half in prison.
