Preparations are on-going for the 14th annual IrishFest.

The three-day event begins next Friday on the Oktoberfest Grounds in La Crosse.

The celebration is more than just Irish beer and music says IrishFest president Pat Stephens.

“We use it as an educational experience for people to understand and appreciate the many contributions the irish people have made to the world,” Stephens said.

He added that the event has doubled since its first year. Favorites like Gaelic Storm will be on stage two days, along with other bands from Ireland.

Stephens expects around 8,000 people. You can get your tickets in advance on the IrishFest website here or at Festival Foods locations.
