New name, new building, same services, as Coulee Recovery Center holds ribbon cutting

A new building and a new name.

What now is the Coulee Recovery Center had a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday afternoon for its new location on Ferry Street in La Crosse.

Dan Radtke, who serves on the Coulee Recovery Center’s board, said the fundraising campaign was a grinding process but the end result is worth the hard work.

Board president Tom Thompson said their work isn’t over now that the building is up.

The location change to Ferry Street from its Jackson Street-West Avenue location had caused concern among the neighbors about illegal drug use and other unruly behavior.

The group had previously been called Coulee Council on Addictions and, before that, several other names.
