Fire trucks didn’t have to go very far to respond to a traffic accident in La Crosse on Friday morning.

A Chevy Silverado pickup jumped the curb and crashed into a house at 510 Market Street, less than half-a-block from Fire Station #1.

The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

It’s not known whether the driver had a medical problem which led to the accident.

The truck went past a tree in the front yard and hit a ledge below a window, causing some damage to the ledge and the vehicle.

The main wall of the house was not damaged, but the two tires on the driver’s side of the truck went flat.

It appears no one was in the house at the time.
