Road acquisition for Riverside North development delayed
A final deal on acquisition of property to provide access to a major development in La Crosse has been pushed back.
Monday, the city’s Board of Public Works delayed action for at least a week on negotiations to acquire land to extend a road into the Riverside North development project, just north of Riverside Park.
Back in May, the board approved a document that essentially began the process of exercising eminent domain over the small chunk of land needed for access to the 65-acre swath of land next to the Black River.
Of that land, 26 acres will be developed into something that’s hoped to be worth $200 million or more some day.
