Sears to close at Valley View Mall in November

Not too many big box anchors going to be left in Valley View Mall by this winter.

The La Crosse mall is now losing Sears, which announced the closure of the store in the mall, along with 45 other Sears and Kmarts around the nation.

Earlier this year the company announced 72 store closings.

The latest batch are considered unprofitable. Another one of the stores on the list is in Eau Claire.

Herberger’s in the mall is expected to have its last day Aug. 29. Its going-out-of-business sale began in April. A year prior to that, Herberger’s had announced it was moving to the recently vacated storefront of Macy’s, which had recently closed at that time at Valley View.

JC Penny will soon be the last remaining anchor store at the mall.
