AMTRAK, freight delays due to washout near Wisconsin Dells

Washout near Wisconsin Dells has delayed AMTRAK services.

The washout has occured between Mauston and the Dells, delaying the Empire Builder services between the Twin Cities and Milwaukee.

Crews are currently working to restore services but that will take a few hours, as the train waits in Portage to keep heading west, according to AMTRAK.

Freight between La Crosse and Milwaukee isn’t moving in either direction.
