Moon Tunes, Great River Folk Festival announces Flood Relief Concert for Sept 13

With the recent flooding that’s hit southwestern Wisconsin hard, community members are getting involved in multiple ways to help with relief efforts.

Wednesday, Moon Tunes — the free concerts that mostly take place on Thursday nights in Riverside Park — partnered with The Great River Folk Festival announced it would get involved, as well, with a flood relief concert on Sept. 13 at the southside Oktoberfest grounds.

Moon Tunes posted, “Andy Hughes, of TUGG, contacted Megan Tomlinson from The Great River Folk Fest and Moon Tunes suggesting we do a Flood Relief Concert. … Pat Stephens has joined our planning committee. We will have music, food, refreshments and accepting donations to help those families in our area that have had their lives turned upside down due to the flooding. … Thanks to my fellow Oktoberfest Board of Directors for providing us the venue to host this fundraiser. Stronger Together!”

In response to the flooding, sharing the video below, the Great River Folk Festival posted: “This was a serious flood for friends of all of ours, we’re helping with some great partners for a flood relief on Sep 13th, but let’s be serious. These people, like many other in areas of flood and fire, need one on one help; and to those angels we say thank you.”
