No rest for the weary, apparently.

UPDATE:

The National Weather Service is warning about more dangerous weather tonight in the La Crosse, and surrounding areas, by 5 p.m.

Wind gusts up to 40 mph, scattered thunderstorms — some strong — brief torrential rainfall, frequent lightning are expected from southeast Minnesota to central Wisconsin.

The dangerous weather could continue overnight.

Some areas north and northwest of La Crosse may see 6-10 inches of rain. In La Crosse County it could be 1-3 inches or more and flash flooding is very likely.

Damaging winds and tornadoes are also possible between 6-9 p.m.

La Crosse police say be prepared for flooding, storm damages and rescue operations.

Earlier today, the National Weather Service released a statement warning of potentially deadly conditions due to an anticipated 2-8 inches of additional rainfall throughout the region.

In a region already drenched with 10-15 inches of rain over the last week, significantly more rain will likely add to the flooding already occurring in rivers.

Heavy rains are expected to stretch from northeast Iowa to northwest Wisconsin.

In addition, damaging winds or tornadoes are possible Tuesday evening.
