Wisconsin is among the five biggest governor’s races this fall, according to U.S News and World report.

The publicantion says Republican Gov. Scott Walker, seeking a third term in the swing state, is almost as big of a deal as Florida, Georgia and Iowa.

The Florida race features the state’s first black gubernatorial nominee, while Stacey Abrams is trying to become the first black female governor elected in Georgia. In Iowa, it’s sort of the opposite, as Republican Kim Reynolds, the state’s first female governor, could be unseated by “wealthy businessman Fred Hubbell” — though there’s no polling to suggest that.

The publication says a third term for Walker would be “an affirmation of his rarefied place in Badger State history and a possible pathway to another White House bid.”

Walker’s already run a dozen television advertisements since June, according to the article.

While the election promises to be a tight one, a Walker campaign adviser is cited in the report with this evaluation of the governor’s Democratic opponent Tony Evers:

“It feels like the Democrats failed in who they nominated,” the adviser said. “It was a godsend that Evers won this primary.”
