Seventeen Wisconsin counties will be inspected by FEMA staffers next week, as they assess the region’s recent damage from floods and tornadoes.

La Crosse, Vernon, Monroe, and Crawford are among the counties where Gov. Scott Walker has requested damage assessments.

FEMA representatives will view homes that had major damage, without going inside those homes.

The governor’s office says 56 homes and 14 businesses in the state have been destroyed and more than 500 other homes had major damage.

The property loss is estimated at over 150-million dollars.
