Emergency management coordinator Keith Butler said FEMA will decide whether it needs to personally inspect buildings or roads, before making funding recommendations.

FEMA already visited parts of Vernon County and could also tour Monroe County disaster areas before the week is over.

Butler added that the heaviest damage in the county was in the Highway 35 area south of La Crosse and in the towns of Greenfield and Washington.
