Missing man now jailed in La Crosse

TOMAH, Wis. The fugitive sought for nearly a week after a home invasion in La Crosse County has been captured.

Max Stockert was arrested on I-90 Friday night, by the state police and Tomah police.

Stockert was booked in the La Crosse County jail later that night, and is now facing five charges including burglary and false imprisonment.

Police believe Stockert was the masked man who forced his way into a town of Greenfield home on September 23rd, and stole a car and a cellphone.

The car was recovered a day later in Tomah.

Stockert may appear before a La Crosse judge on Monday.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
