La Crosse District one step from passing budget

One more step for the La Crosse School Board to pass its budget.

Last night, the board held a public hearing on the budget. No one from the public showed up but finance director Patricia Sprang said the tax levy rate would decrease by 1.1 percent to $11.40 per $1,000 of assessed value.

Sprang also said they are expecting a 2.8 percent decrease in state funding from last year.
