Online voter registration over in Wisconsin, still opportunity to sign up to vote

Online voter registration may be over in Wisconsin but voter registration is not.

There’s still an opportunity to show up at a municipal clerk’s office and register to vote before election day on Nov. 6.

Deadline for registering online closed Wednesday night with plenty getting in just under the wire, says La Crosse city clerk Teri Lehrke.

“This morning when I got here to my office, I had 110 emails in my inbox, the majority of which were online registrations that were submitted by the deadline,” she said.

About 1,000 registered online in the city, which Lehrke said is a solid number.

Registration at clerk’s offices will end Nov. 2, but same day registration at the polls will still be available.
