Students arrested, after breaking down door to attack someone — all over a female
A conflict over a female led six local college students to bust through an apartment door on Oakland Street, looking for a man inside to beat up.
The incident took place Friday night. The six students were from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and all between the ages of 18-20.
They pounded on the apartment door, then kicked it in, as the two inside hid in a bedroom with lacrosse sticks to defend themselves.
Reports say one of the men heard the police were coming and they all ran.
One man was injured when he fell 20 feet into a drainage ditch. He had injuries to his head and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Others were found at their residence halls and cited for several offenses, including trespassing, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
Police say they all blamed other people within the group.
