Winona teen faces charges after Snapchat video references shooting up school
Contents of a Snapchat video have landed a 15-year-old Winona boy in jail.
Winona police say a student notified a school official of a Snapchat message he had received, which showed the boy referencing a school shooting.
Police were immediately notified and went to the boy’s house where he was taken into custody.
Charges of threats of violence have been referred to Winona County’s attorney.
Winona Police Chief Paul Bostrack commended the student for taking the threat seriously and contacting the school official.
