Voters pass referendums for Holmen School District
A convincing yes to both referendum questions Tuesday night posed to voters by the Holmen School District.
One to use $23.5 million make upgrades at the high school to help the crowding issue.
“We are just so thrilled and excited,” district administrator Kristin Mueller said. “Our community really came together. Everyone put so much effort in making things so much better for our children. And now, the hard work will begin.”
The other to help fund maintenance, to the tune of $460,000 per year.
“We really took great effort in listening to our community and what they would like to see,” Mueller said. “The financial planning within the district really helps when you can deliver a referendum with no no tax impact.”
The district says it expects larger than normal class sizes to hit the high school within the next few years.
Construction should get underway by next summer.
