Hillview home in line for repairs

Some urgent repairs are in the works for the Hillview nursing home, owned by La Crosse County.

Hillview has experienced a drop in its population, and the staff there has been reduced in recent months as a result.

Funding to fix or prevent water damage is already available, and would not require tax increases by the county.

Steve O’Malley, the county administrator, says Hillview has been sustained for many years without county tax money, partly from funds provided by other counties participating in a consortium.

A study of long-term options for improving Hillview could take a year or more.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
