Another sign of winter coming to La Crosse…the alternate side parking rules take effect tonight at midnight.

The rule restricts what side of the street you can park on overnight.

On odd numbered mornings, cars are to be parked on the odd side of the street, and vice-versa.

Those who break the rules will be given one warning, but the second violation carries a $15 fine.

That amount goes up if the fine is not paid in a timely fashion.

Alternate side parking will be in effect in La Crosse through March 15.
