First snow of season over 1 inch predicted for La Crosse
Just in time for the gun-deer hunt in Wisconsin, the La Crosse area could get its first multi-inch snowfall of the season tonight.
The National Weather Service predicts 2 to 4 inches of snow for La Crosse with a winter weather advisory starting at 6 p.m. and lasting into Saturday morning.
Up to 6 inches could fall to the south and west of La Crosse — mainly in a band from La Crescent to Rochester and Austin.
The forecast says snow may start to accumulate in La Crosse around 8 p.m., and continue through about 2 a.m.
Up until now, the heaviest snow for the season in La Crosse has been three-tenths of an inch last Friday.
