La Crosse police asking for help in finding hit and run driver that injured children

La Crosse police are hoping for help in finding the driver in a hit and run that injured two children.

A statement from the police deparment said the crime occurred on Friday at about 4:52 p.m..

Three children were attempting to cross George Street at Logan Street, in the crosswalk when a southbound four-door car hit two of the children.

The car is described as a gray or a lighter colored gray, 4-door passenger car, possibly a Toyota, or similar make.

Both children were taken to local medical facilities with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said, according to witnesses, the car was last seen driving away from the scene south on George Street.
