Drunk driving suspect jailed after chase and crash into house

Criminal charges could be filed this week against a Chicago man jailed after a chase through La Crosse.

The bond for Jerry Berry is set at $10,000 cash.

Berry is accused of driving drunk and endangering safety, after trying to flee from police who suspected him of getting a fake prescription filled at the Walgreen’s on West Avenue.

Police say Berry’s car hit a house and two parked cars on West Avenue on Friday before he ran away and was arrested later.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk."
