As I See It

A guest editorial from WIZM listener Jim Grayson

I am quite weary of hearing the nasal tone of Scott Robert Shaw with his poorly conceived, single-minded, repetitious monologues, droning on with his prejudiced overview of an issue when he deems important. Single-minded would be his denigrating everything President Trump. Recently I heard Scott Robert Shaw wail and moan about our national debt. In 8 years the Obama administration added almost $9.5 trillion to our national debt. The Bush administration did almost as poorly during their reign. Did we hear a peep from Scott Robert Shaw during those years? Worse yet, Scott blamed this excessive debt on recent tax cuts. Prejudiced would be Scott Robert Shaw’s recent statement that “Trump” as he calls him – never President Trump – labeled our free press the enemy of the public. Quit lying, Scott Robert Shaw. President Trump has promoted a free press, and has provided daily White House briefings to an open press corps. President Trump does, and rightly so, condemn “fake news” – not a free press. Fake news exactly like the incorrect quotes and actions which you attribute to our President.

Scott Robert Shaw serves as WIZM Program Director and News Director, and delivers the morning news on WKTY, Z-93 and 95.7 The Rock. Scott has been at Mid-West Family La Crosse since 1989, and authors Wisconsin's only daily radio editorial, "As I See It" heard on WIZM each weekday morning and afternoon.

Thank you Jim Grayson! My thoughts exactly, I actually leave the room if I can when Scott has his comment so I don’t holler at the radio.

The truth is that the month Trumps tax cuts began, the IRS collected record revenues. The fact of the matter is that the Laffer Curve was alive and well prior to the cuts. Is the result of the Trump tax cuts permanent? Hardly. Without accompanying spending cuts and a balanced budget it is not sustainable. Then of course nothing government does ever is.

This guy is as anti Trump as you can be. Every time he opens his trap you can bet a million bucks it will be anti Trump or Walker.

Completely agreed. These monologues are the worst part of the programming at this station and it makes me cringe whenever I have the misfortune to hear it. The vitriol he spews in the name of journalism is shameful.

Completely agree with Jim. I usually end up changing the station when Scott comes on and seldom turn it back to 92.3 because I am looking for news talk radio, not a platform for the DNC.
