Bond has been set at $5,000 for a La Crosse man accused of battery to an officer and resisting arrest.

Bryant Swiggum reportedly kicked an officer in the leg, after city police were called to check on an argument in a 7th Street apartment.

Swiggum allegedly admitted to using meth. The 29-year-old has been arrested several times this year in La Crosse and Crawford Counties.

Earlier in the year, Swiggum was jailed in Prairie du Chien, Wis., and reportedly punched two jailers in the head during a disturbance.

In that case, a prison term was stayed and Swiggum was placed on probation.
