The men’s basketball team from UW-La Crosse had a rough ride on the way back from a weekend game in Iowa.

The driver of the team’s chartered bus and one passenger were hurt when the vehicle slid on Interstate 35, crossed the median, and hit some safety cables.

It happened near Clear Lake, Iowa on Saturday night, as the Eagles team was heading home from an afternoon game at Central College in Pella.

The cable barrier is being credited with preventing the bus from going any farther after leaving the road.

Other transportation was arranged to get the UW-L team to a hotel for that night.
