The Village of Holmen will see a six-percent jump in its property tax rate.

Part of the reasoning, new investments in the TIF districts that brought in a new Festival Foods, a new Kwik Trip and other shops to Holmen.

A $200,000 home will pay $4,584 dollars  or about $22.90 for every $1,000.

Village administrator Scott Heinig said the debt service increase will pay off in the end.

“The hope, then, is, and this is already looking like it’s going to be the case, heading into the next few years, those private investments, then, will help to reduce the tax rate,” Heinig said.

The highest portion of the tax bill comes from Holmen’s schools.
