Music fans want to see more concerts at La Crosse Center

Should the La Crosse Center try to book more concerts?

Yes, according to one customer survey reported to the La Crosse Center Board.

In response to a question about the priorities that should be set by the civic center, the No. 1 suggestion was “concert growth,” followed by increasing the number of conferences held in the building.

But if you think the La Crosse Center arena should be expanded as part of the $42 million project to bring in bigger acts, that probably won’t happen.

Board member Phil Addis says that if La Crosse had a larger arena to attract more famous performers, then ticket prices would go up.

Members of the board also argue that having more seats wouldn’t guarantee bigger shows, or more shows.

Ticket prices would go up? If the public is willing to pay, why are they saying no? It’s a ridiculous comment.

I agree that is a ridiculous comment. These people pay the higher ticket prices, plus the travel expenses to go see these act’s in the cities or Chicago. So even if the ticket prices are higher it would be cheaper for us to stay local. Not to mention the the meals, drinks, hotels, etc. All that money would stay local.
