Chicago man told not to return to La Crosse, except for court hearings

Don’t come back to La Crosse, unless you have to. 

That’s one of the conditions imposed on an Illinois man who’s been released from the La Crosse County jail, and is waiting to be tried for fleeing from city police. 

Jerry Smith, Jr., of Chicago, also known as Jerry Berry, has been told to stay in Illinois and not return to La Crosse, except for scheduled court hearings. 

La Crosse police attempted to arrest Smith at a Walgreen’s for allegedly trying to get drugs with a forged prescription. 

Smith drove off, and hit parked cars and a house during a police chase. 

He’s also accused of endangering two passengers in his car. 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.     La Crosse form of Justice!!!! Good job, send back to Chicago to schedule next run!!! Wonder why we have problems?!

    What about making restitution for the damages he caused. Why should innocent people have to pay for his actions?
