A winter storm is making its way to the La Crosse area, but it appears the La Crosse area will likely see more rain than snow.

A wintery mix of precipitation is expected. The highest snow totals will be over north-central Wisconsin.

La Crosse is expecting to see rain moving in after midnight tonight with up to three quarters of an inch of precipitation possible.

Rain is expected to continue Thursday with a thunderstorm a possibility.

The rain is expected to continue Thursday night and into Friday.

The rain could begin to turn to snow Friday before coming to an end.

La Crosse could see up to a half inch of snow accumulation.

Areas to our north could see up to four inches.

La Crosse received .2 of an inch of snow on Christmas Day, which technically does not count as a “white Christmas,” where there’s supposed to be at least 1 inch of snow on the ground.
