Houston County car crash kills 1 teenager, injures 2 others

One teenage boy has died in a car crash near Brownsville.

Three boys, ages 15 and 16, were in the car that went out of control on Highway 26, went into a ditch, and hit a tree.

The accident happened just after 4:00 Thursday afternoon.

The name of the 15-year-old passenger from New Albin who died will be released later today by the Minnesota state patrol.

Another passenger, 16-year-old Tyler Wild of New Albin, is being treated at Gundersen in La Crosse for minor injuries.

The driver also is in the hospital, but we don’t know his condition.
