Onalaska police release more info on deadly crash

Onalaska police have released more information on the deadly car crash that took place Monday afternoon.

A preliminary investigation reveals that a 2016 Ford Pickup was eastbound in the 1000 block of Main Street, when the driver, 78 year old Ronald Sprehn, suffered an acute medical emergency.

He increased his speed and rear ended a car in front of him, left the roadway, and struck a sign, a retaining wall and finally a utility pole which police found severed.

His passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Sprehn died at the hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle was also treated for injuries.

No charges are expected to be filed.
