Central still No. 2, Onalaska moves up to fifth in latest AP poll

The Central High School boys basketball team remains ranked No. 2 in the latest AP poll.

Onalaska (13-3) moved a spot up to No. 5 in Division 2.

Both teams just recently lost to defending Minnesota Class 2A state champion Minnehaha (12-2) — the top-ranked team in its class.

Onalaska lost 76-60, while the Red Raiders (12-2) lost 59-55.

In Division 5, defending state champion Bangor (12-1) remains at No. 3 while Blair-Taylor (13-1) moved down from fourth to to seventh, after a 77-57 loss to Melrose-Mindoro (9-5).

Bangor’s only loss came back on Dec. 11 to Blair-Taylor, 74-67.
