Bad day for train travel in the Midwest

Travelers who were planning to take a train from Chicago to La Crosse today will have to find other transportation, or put off their trip. 

Amtrak has cancelled all of its trains in and out of Chicago today because of the frigid weather. 

However, the eastbound Empire Builder headed to Chicago was still supposed to arrive in La Crosse this morning.

The planned arrival time in La Crosse, around 11:30 a.m., was an hour late.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
