Onalaska man found dead after van crash in industrial park

A 36-year-old Onalaska man has died after his van crashed on Wednesday in the north La Crosse industrial park.

Benjamin Ahlstrom’s body was found face down in the snow, near the accident scene on Hauser Street.

Police were called to the area just after 7 a.m. Wednesday, and found a wrecked van which apparently had hit a gate at a business.

Ahlstrom was found about 25 feet from the vehicle.

Police believe he was driving the van when it crashed.

Investigators are waiting for the results of an autopsy.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
