Two brothers appear in court on armed robbery charges

The two La Crosse men accused of robbing a man at gunpoint on the street this week have made appearances in court.

Brothers Timothy and Justin Ellis are being held in the county jail on cash bond…$10,000 for Timothy, and $5000 for Justin.

Timothy is suspected of firing a bullet into the robbery victim’s car.

The holdup happened Wednesday morning on Liberty Street.

Police followed footprints in the snow from the crime scene to a house on Gould Street, where they waited for hours in frigid weather before entering the building.

Both men are charged with armed robbery, and recklessly endangering safety.
