The Memorial Pool project in La Crosse received a $30,000 donation from the Ho-Chunk Nation.

The money will be put toward the $3 million renovation of the community swimming pool on Campbell Road, which dates back to the 1930s.

Supporters of the project say they’ve passed 50 percent of their fundraising goal for remodeling the pool, which has been closed to the public for three years because of leaks and other problems.

They count over $250,000 in pledges, and hope to have the remodeled pool open by June.
