“Messing around” with handgun gets wife shot, leads to husband’s arrest
“Messing around” with a handgun put a woman in the hospital and led to the arrest of her husband.
Adam Hoff called 911 around 3 p.m. Sunday, indicating his wife needed an ambulance. Later in the call, the Ettrick, Wis., man admitted she was shot in the ankle.
After an investigation by the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, it was determined the 27-year-old Hoff was “messing around” with the gun and accidentally shot the woman.
While she was being transported to the hospital, Hoff was arrested for “going armed with a firearm while under the influence of an intoxicant,” according to the report.
