More than a month after the stabbing death of a La Crosse man, the suspect in the case doesn’t have an attorney through the public defender’s office yet.

As a result, a pre-trial hearing for Anquin St. Junious has been postponed for two more weeks, until February 22nd.

St. Junious was charged in early January with the stabbing of Virgil Stewart, while the two men were arguing in the doorway of a cab in south La Crosse.

That fight happened a few days after a reported attack on St. Junious by a large group of people on 5th Avenue South.

Judge Dale Pasell says La Crosse County may have to find an attorney for St. Junious to prevent further delays in the case.
