No one injured in La Crosse basement fire, one person evacuated

One person was able to escape a residential fire on the south side of La Crosse on Friday.

The house on 20th Street South was unoccupied by the time firefighters arrived, around 2:30 p.m.

A fire in the basement was extinguished quickly.

Sparks from a grinder in the basement are being blamed for starting the fire.
