La Crosse Police had a busy Thursday with a search for a wanted man on the north side and two accidents on the south side.

It turns out one man was involved in all of those situations.

The district attorney is now charging 27-year-old Sean Ewing of La Crosse with burglary, car theft and two counts of hit and run.

Police were sent to Gillette Street on Thursday morning for a welfare check on Ewing, who had been seen at a Subway restaurant.

Officers believed Ewing jumped over a fence at an apartment complex, entered a garage and stole a car, which had the keys inside.

The stolen car turned up later in the day in a couple of crashes in the Market Street area.

The driver of the car, who ran from the scene, was discovered outside the Hogan Administrative Center.

One of the accidents was a hit-and-run, in which the other driver complained of an injured leg.

Ewing’s bond has been set at $1,000 cash.
