La Crosse man charged with possessing child porn

A child pornography suspect from La Crosse is on probation now, but he could get decades in prison for newly-filed charges. 

Trenton Burnstad is accused of possessing videos and photos showing naked or partially-dressed girls, some as young as toddlers. 

The charges filed this week say the 22-year-old Burnstad possessed the images during the past year. 

Burnstad is nearing the end of a three-year probation period for a sex crime in Monroe County, being convicted of exposing a child to ‘harmful descriptions.’    

He could face 75 years in prison if he’s found guilty on the new charges.

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area.
