Wisconsin Supreme Court won’t hear appeal in La Crosse paternity case
The Wisconsin Supreme Court will not review a paternity case from a La Crosse County court.
A dispute over who fathered a local woman’s child was sent to the high court, after a ruling from appeals judges last year.
The lower court judges determined that the woman’s husband probably was NOT the father.
He had married the woman shortly before the baby’s birth in 2014, but a genetic test showed that a second man was almost certainly the father.
That second man filed a paternity claim when the baby was a year old, and a genetic test showed a 99 % chance that he is the father.
The mother’s husband appealed the court ruling, arguing that the genetic test should not have been done.
