The highly-publicized daily flights between La Crosse and Detroit look to boost what was already a good 2018 at the La Crosse Regional Airport.

The airport recorded 15 percent more flights in 2018 over 2017. The number of passengers were also up.

Also, some airline fares have gone down, according to airport marketing manager Miranda TerBeest.

The La Crosse-Detroit flights start Saturday on Delta Airlines.

Nearly 100,000 people arrived at the La Crosse Airport on flights that happened in 2018 — a 10 percent increase over 2017.

A slightly higher number departed from La Crosse from last year, as well.

TerBeest thinks having bigger planes make regular flights in and out of La Crosse made a difference.
