Kind supports an expansion of medical residencies for Wisconsin
A bipartisan bill to help increase medical care in rural areas of Wisconsin is being introduced by La Crosse Congressman Ron Kind.
The local Democrat is sponsoring the bill for medical resident training, along with Green Bay area Republican Mike Gallagher.
Kind says the bill would allow expansion of programs where medical students can do residency in the state, especially in farm regions.
Kind’s office quoted a study saying that 50 percent of medical residents remain in the state where they completed their residency programs.
