Wednesday snow pushes February total in La Crosse to new record for the month

No doubt about it, now…this February has been a record-setter in La Crosse. 

On the next to last day of the month, the snow total for February reached 31.1 inches…a tenth-of-an-inch above the previous record from 1959. 

The snow depth in La Crosse is now 17 inches. 

Ironically, the ground was bare in some parts of the city during the first week of February, after a weekend of 40-degree temperatures. 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
