Minnesota man jailed in Winona for home invasion and sexual assault

Nearly four months after a home invasion and sexual assault in St. Charles, a suspect has been captured.

Zane Pederson of Spicer, Minnesota was booked in the Winona County jail Tuesday on four criminal counts, including 2nd degree sexual conduct, burglary, and making terroristic threats.

Pederson’s bond is set at $1 million.

The armed home invasion happened in St. Charles early on the morning of November 18th.

A St. Charles woman says she was tied up, sexually assaulted three separate times, and threatened by an intruder.

Police say Pederson was the masked man who broke into the woman’s home and kept her captive for five hours.

Besides forcing her to have sex, the attacker reportedly threatened to shoot the victim and her young child.

Police used DNA evidence from sperm cells to identify Pederson as the attacker.

He admits to breaking into the victim’s house two nights in a row, with the assaults happening the second time.
