A fugitive from French Island who skipped out on a pornography trial a year ago is back in the La Crosse jail, after being found in Wyoming.

He’s David Edwin Hansen of the town of Campbell, who turned up two weeks ago at a Gillette, Wyoming motel.

Hansen was 72 years old when La Crosse County charged him in 2017 with 10 counts of keeping child porn on a home computer.

The case was supposed to go to trial last April, but Hansen missed a pre-trial hearing, and an arrest warrant was issued.

At the time of his original arrest, a $10,000 cash bond was ordered for Hansen, but it was later reduced to a signature bond.

Judge Todd Bjerke has set Hansen’s new bond at $100,000 cash, and orders him not to contact children, and not to use computers.
